Minister Andreasyan meets her Georgian counterpart in Tbilisi

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan met with the Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Givi Mikanadze, in Tbilisi as part of her working visit to Georgia.
According to a press release from the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Minister Andreasyan congratulated her counterpart on his appointment and expressed hope for the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
To ensure the continued development of bilateral relations, Minister Andreasyan proposed expanding opportunities for implementing joint programs in the fields of education, science, and youth policy. She noted that she had recently met with young people from Armenia and Georgia who are currently participating in a youth gathering in Aparan, Armenia.
Minister Mikanadze welcomed the organization of the youth conference, highlighting its role in promoting communication, the exchange of knowledge and experience between Armenian and Georgian youth, and the implementation of joint initiatives. At the invitation of the Georgian side, 25 young people from Armenia will also participate in a summer camp in Anaklia from August 8 to 12.
The parties proposed exploring possibilities for launching joint initiatives under the Erasmus program between secondary vocational education institutions of the two countries, particularly in the field of construction.
It was noted that the interstate scholarship program was also discussed. Within this framework, Armenian citizens have the opportunity to pursue higher education at Georgian universities, and Georgian citizens at Armenian universities.
The importance of implementing joint educational and scientific programs in the field of science was emphasized, including potential cooperation within the "Horizon Europe" program. The two sides also stressed the need for enhanced inter-university cooperation between Armenia and Georgia.
Minister Andreasyan also spoke about the “Academic City” strategic initiative and invited her counterpart to attend a conference to be held in Yerevan in October.
The parties also discussed a number of other issues of mutual interest.
