On July 7, in New York, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Earle Courtenay Rattray, the Chef de Cabinet of the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the “UN80” initiative of the UN Secretary-General, emphasizing the importance of ensuring inclusivity and balance.
The situation in the South Caucasus was touched upon. Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan reiterated the commitment of Armenia towards advancing the peace agenda in the region and briefed his counterpart on the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative developed by the Government of Armenia.
The efforts of Armenia in the preparatory work for the upcoming 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia in 2026 was touched upon.
