Iran says it shot down Israeli F-35 fighter jet near Tehran

Iran said on Wednesday that it shot down an Israeli F-35 fighter jet some 35km southeast of Tehran.

IRNA state news agency, citing local officials, reported that the jet was downed near the city of Varamin, making it the fifth F-35 jet shot down by Iran since hostilities began on Friday.

Israel has rejected previous claims by Iran to have shot down Israeli aircraft as “fake news.”
