The annual Yerevan Wine Days festival will be held June 6-8 this year, offering visitors an immersive experience into Armenian winemaking traditions, music and cuisine.

Organizers said the event has become one of the most significant tourism festivals in the country.

“Our studies show that the festival is very popular among locals and foreign tourists alike,” said Mary Badalyan, the co-founder of EventToura, the organizer of the festival.

The 2024 festival saw 120,000 visitors, with over 30% of them foreign tourists.

Most tourists came from Russia, China, Japan and several European countries, according to Badalyan.

Some tourists visit the country especially for the Yerevan Wine Days, according to organizers.

“This year we’ve actively worked on the French market and we expect guests from France,” she added.

Mekhak Apresyan, the President of the Armenian Tourism Federation, described the Yerevan Wine Days as economically, culturally and politically significant. He said the event boosts various branches of the economy.

He said that Yerevan Wine Days, as well as the Areni Wine Festival, have greatly contributed to the revival of Armenian winemaking.

The economic impact of the 2024 festival exceeded 25 million dollars, with winemakers selling over 42,000 bottles of wine during the event, setting a new record.

Yerevan Wine Days is held in the Saryan-Moskovyan-Tumanyan streets in downtown of the city.
