Russian President Vladimir Putin’s WWII Victory Day ceasefire offer is still in force despite the latest Ukrainian drone attacks, the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said.
“The ceasefire initiative during the holidays is in force, and the respective orders have been issued by the Commander-in-Chief,” Peskov said, according to RBK.
“I’d like to remind our stance: The fire will cease but if this isn’t reciprocated by the Kiev regime we will immediately give an adequate response,” Peskov added.
Russia earlier said it intercepted over 100 Ukrainian drones across Russian territory in the early hours of May 6.
President Putin has announced a ceasefire in the war in Ukraine from May 8 to 11 to mark the WWII Victory Day, which is celebrated on May 9.
