Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the progress of the “300 Schools, 500 Kindergartens” program.

According to a readout from the Prime Minister’s Office, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan reported that between 2021 and 2025, construction, renovation, and design work for 340 schools have been launched and are currently underway. These schools will serve approximately 130,000 students.

During the same period, 45 schools have already been put into operation—10 renovated and 35 newly built—serving around 20,000 students. By the end of this year, construction of 20 additional schools and the renovation of 70 more are expected to be completed.
It was noted that in 2021-2024, 45 schools were built at a cost of approximately 50 billion drams. In 2021 - 2026, 295 schools are under construction or renovation, with a total budget of about 328 billion drams.

Regarding kindergartens, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that 386 are either completed, under construction, or in the tender stage, designed  for 37,000 children. A concrete plan has already been formulated for commissioning 500 kindergartens by 2026. So far, work has been completed in 204 preschool institutions.

In communities without access to preschool services, educational complexes will ensure accessibility. In 162 settlements where such complexes are not planned, the following approaches are being implemented - in 11 of 14 settlements with more than 50 children but no kindergartens, construction has already begun; in the remaining three, it will begin soon. In settlements with up to 50 children, options for establishing preschools or forming educational clusters are being explored and in settlements with up to 10 children, alternative preschool models are under consideration.

Altogether, these efforts amount to a total investment of 452 billion drams.
The meeting also addressed the progress of construction and renovation of schools and kindergartens.

Prime Minister Pashinyan instructed responsible officials to ensure strict quality control and the adherence to the planned schedule.
