The Vedi Reservoir, constructed under the directive of the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia, is the only such structure built during the years of Armenia's independence. It is now being filled with water for the first time.
According to the Territorial Development Fund, the construction of the reservoir cost 60 million euros, with funding provided by the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the French Development Agency.
The reservoir will have a capacity of 29.3 million cubic meters, enabling the irrigation of 3220 hectares of land through gravity-fed systems.
