Defense Ministry warns against generating fake news

The Armenian Defense Ministry has warned that false information about the situation on the border and army positions have been recently generated on social media.

In a statement released Friday, the Defense Ministry urged to refrain from spreading incorrect information about the military.

“In the recent days some social media users have been publishing various, untrue information regarding the frontline or the army positions. In case of intense, significant violations of the ceasefire the Armenian Ministry of Defense is publishing official releases, and refuting disinformation reports under standard procedure after multiple verifications. The Defense Ministry urges to refrain from publishing incorrect, false and made up information pertaining to the army and the border situation, and follow the official reports of the Defense Ministry,” the ministry said.
