Armenia always ready to cooperate with elected authorities of Syria, consul-general tells Aleppo official

Deputy Governor of Aleppo Governorate Ali Hanoura on March 10 visited the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo, Syria. 

Hanoura’s delegation included several other local officials.

Consul General Ara Avetisyan spoke about the historic Armenian-Arab ties, the traditionally warm relationship between the Armenians and Syrians, which “can be a classic example of interethnic friendship and be useful for restoring tolerance”, the local Kantsasar newspaper reported.

The Aleppo officials agreed with the assessment and added that they have great respect for the Syrian-Armenians and Armenia, and this attitude will be continuous.

The consul general presented the broad circle of cooperation in all areas that has traditionally existed between Armenia and Syria, adding that Armenia is always ready to support and cooperate with the authorities elected by the friendly people of Syria.

Avetisyan also briefed the officials about the recent trip by Armenian Deputy FM Vahan Kostanyan to Damascus and the course of implementation of the achieved agreements.

Avetisyan presented his vision about cooperation.

Deputy Governor of Aleppo Ali Hanoura expressed readiness to support the activities of the Consulate General of Armenia in Aleppo.

The sides agreed to maintain permanent contact. 

Consul general Avetisyan extended his best regards to the governor and vowed to pay him a visit soon.
