Prime Minister Pashinyan, UN official discuss COP17 organizational matters

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Astrid Schumaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Pashinyan welcomed Schomaker’s visit, noting that it provided an opportunity to discuss the progress of preparations for the COP17 conference to be held in Armenia and the upcoming steps to be taken.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of active cooperation and support to effectively implement the preparatory work.
The PM reaffirmed the Armenian government’s commitment to making every effort to ensure the event is organized in the best possible way.
Schomaker expressed confidence in the high level of organization, given that the preparatory work is being coordinated with the Prime Minister’s staff.
She added that the initiative to host the event reflects the Armenian government’s commitment to advancing the biodiversity agenda.
