Total value of assets facing forfeiture in recovery efforts goes beyond $1,5 billion

The stolen asset recovery department of the general prosecution has filed over 130 forfeiture motions to court with total assets in question estimated over 600 billion drams (more than 1,5 billion USD), Armenia's top prosecutor said Thursday.

The Department of Confiscation of Illegally Obtained Assets has filed 136 motions seeking to seize 1381 real estate properties, 270 movable properties, shares in 359 companies, and 527 billion drams in financial assets, Prosecutor-General Anna Vardapetyan said at the Cabinet meeting.

The estimated 600-billion-dram total value of the assets will grow because the market value of all assets hasn't been calculated yet.

Over 10,2 billion drams in recovered money has been deposited on the special designated account since its launch in early December 2024.

The prosecution will publish detailed information about frozen assets in July.
