Armenian, Hungarian officials highlight importance of opening resident embassies

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. On December 13, in Budapest, Secretary General of the Armenian Foreign Ministry David Karapetyan had a meeting with Tristan Azbey, the State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and for the Hungary Helps Program of the Prime Minister’s Office of Hungary.

The Secretary General emphasized that Armenians and Hungarians are connected by a centuries-old common history, culture and spiritual values, and underlined the role of the Armenian community in Hungary, which always enjoys the support of the Hungarian side, while preserving its ethnic and religious identity, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

Davit Karapetyan emphasised the effectiveness of the existing cooperation in humanitarian and educational-cultural spheres.

The parties also touched upon the mutual decision to open resident embassies, highlighting the importance of this step in the context of further deepening of bilateral relations.
