YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. On November 28, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen in Helsinki, which was followed by an expanded meeting.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the two parties discussed opportunities for developing cooperation in various sectors, including trade, business relations, information technology and education. The ongoing reforms being implemented by the Republic of Armenia to strengthen democratic institutions, as well as Finland's support programs in this regard, were highlighted during the meeting.
The foreign ministers also touched upon issues related to the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. They discussed the dynamics of developing relations, the active discussions in society in this direction, the broad scope of the new partnership agenda under development, and its potential prospects.
The launch of the dialogue on visa liberalization, the assistance provided to Armenia under the European Peace Facility, and the importance of the activities of the EU Monitoring Mission were also emphasized.
Interaction in multilateral platforms was touched upon, including within the framework of Finland's upcoming chairmanship of the OSCE.
The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Finland exchanged views on regional issues. Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia's efforts to normalize relations with its neighbors.
In the context of establishing lasting stability in the South Caucasus, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as Armenia's vision for unblocking regional communications.
