YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told lawmakers on Thursday that Armenia needs a new Tax Code.

He said he’s tasked his Cabinet to work on it.

Speaking in parliament during 2025 budget debates, Pashinyan described the current Tax Code as “anti-state”.

“Our tax code doesn’t encourage development or making more money. As unpleasant as this sounds, the turnover tax and the turnover tax system is an anti-state tax system,” Pashinyan told lawmakers.

He said the new Tax Code must be in line with the Armenian state interests.
