YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. French President Emmanuel Macron and Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have expressed full support to the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization and swift signing of a peace treaty between the two countries.
The French and Kazakh leaders have adopted a joint statement on strengthening of strategic partnership.
Tokayev visited France November 4-5.
The document, released by the Kazakh presidential office, also mentions the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization.
“The presidents expressed full support to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and a swift signing of a peace treaty, which will allow to establish just and sustainable peace in the region by respecting the two countries’ territorial integrity, based on the 1991 Almaty Declaration,” reads the statement.
The two leaders also mentioned the importance of stability in South Caucasus in terms of the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor.
