Greek foreign ministry secretary general lauds ‘wonderful’ ties with Armenia

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Armenia and Greece have a 'wonderful relationship' based on rich historical foundation, Maira Myrogianni, the Greek Foreign Ministry’s Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy said at the Global Armenian Summit. 

She said that Armenia and Greece have age-old friendship and cooperation based on common values, as well as diaspora communities all across the world. 

“The diaspora communities are influential and vital. It is our duty to support them and provide necessary support and strengthen their ties with the homeland. With the purpose of deepening cooperation and ties the Greek foreign ministry carries out a strategic project with Greeks living abroad,” Myrogianni said.

She said that the diaspora is the vital component of a nation and its participation in major events like the Global Armenian Summit is extremely important.
