Speaker of Parliament rebukes ‘absurd’ Azeri statements on imposing restrictions upon Armenian military

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan has dismissed as ‘absurd’ statements made by Azerbaijani officials seeking to impose restrictions on the Armenian military armaments.

“I don’t comment on absurd things. Azerbaijan is acquiring massive amounts of weapons, and I want to understand against whom it is doing so, because in case of a war against Armenia one doesn’t need an arsenal of that size. We should understand whom Azerbaijan is planning to wage war against. While Armenia’s defense and military issues are our domestic affair,” Simonyan said.
