Russia hopes for prompt peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, AUGUST 30, ARMENPRESS. Russia hopes Yerevan and Baku will promptly sign a peace treaty, the Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Yevdokimov told RIA Novosti.

“Judging by the official statements from both sides, the draft peace treaty is practically agreed upon. As President Vladimir Putin said during his state visit to Azerbaijan, Moscow would be happy to have its contribution in its signing. I hope it happens as soon as possible, because it would be an important step in terms of achieving sustainable peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus,” the envoy said.
