Moscow hit by one of largest drone attacks in two years

Russia and Ukraine continued to exchange strikes overnight. The Moscow Region came under one of the largest drone attacks in the past two years. One person was killed, the Russian state-run TASS news agency reported.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said 650 UAVs headed toward the Moscow Region between 8:30 p.m. on October 5 and 5:00 a.m. on October 6. Most of them were destroyed outside the region, while 105 were destroyed as they approached the capital.
A 20-year-old man was killed in the Solnechnogorsk municipal district of the Moscow Region in the overnight attacks. Drones were destroyed across 16 municipalities in the region. Six more people were injured.
Russian forces, meanwhile, launched 137 UAVs toward Ukraine, of which 114 were shot down. According to the BBC Russian Service, one of the bridges over the Dnipro River in Zaporizhzhia was targeted. Traffic on the bridge was temporarily suspended. Five people were injured, including two Red Cross workers. A high-rise residential building was also damaged.
A private enterprise was damaged in Russian strikes in Odesa. In Kyiv, a fire broke out on the roof of an educational institution following a morning attack.
Meanwhile, six people were killed and more than 50 injured in daytime airstrikes on Kharkiv on October 5.
