Armenia will not change Constitution on any country’s demand – minister

YEREVAN, AUGUST 8, ARMENPRESS. The negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan continue and Armenia has its agenda in these talks, Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan told reporters when asked on Baku’s goals and whether Yerevan would make concessions given the ongoing new demands made by Azerbaijan.

“We have our agenda, and the negotiations continue. I read the latest statement by the Foreign Ministry, which said that one of the important points of our agenda has been mutually accepted. I think this is a highly important point for the continuity of the negotiations,” he said.

Asked about the Azerbaijani demand on changing the Armenian Constitution, the minister said that Armenia can change its Constitution when the people will make such a decision.

“Armenia will not change its Constitution on any country’s demand. Whether or not Armenia will change its Constitution is the domestic affair of the Republic of Armenia, and it is up to the citizens, the people…,” he added.
