Paris 2024: Bronze medal provides strong foundation for next Olympic games - Malkhas Amoyan

PARIS, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS. Malkhas Amoyan, the new bronze medalist of the Olympic Games, expressed his happiness for winning the bronze medal at Paris 2024 but remains focused on achieving the gold medal in future competitions.

"Although this is my first Olympic Games, after my victories in the European and World Championships, second and third places do not come to my mindI came here solely to win a gold medal. Unfortunately, I struggled with the semi-final and lost.  Thank God I was able to win a medal at least. We deserve what we prepared for. We deserved what we prepared for, but perhaps I missed something along the way. Yes, the medal is there, but it’s not the one I truly wanted. I would be happier if I had won the gold," said the bronze medal winner of the Olympic Games in a conversation with journalists. 

According to Amoyan, winning the bronze medal was also challenging, especially with the match during the 6:5 score. He expressed his gratitude to journalists, coaches, friends, supporters, and God for this achievement.

"Yes, this bronze medal is a good foundation for the next Olympic Games. If I lost, maybe there would be psychological complications in the next tournaments," he added.
