Paris 2024: Wrestler Malkhas Amoyan wins bronze medal

 

PARIS, AUGUST 7, ARMENPRESS. Wrestler Malkhas Amoyan, representing the Armenian Olympic team, won the bronze medal in the 77 kg weight category of Greco-Roman wrestling at the 33rd Olympic Games held in Paris. In the bronze medal match at the Champ-de-Mars Arena, Amoyan defeated Aram Vardanyan, an Armenian wrestler competing for Uzbekistan, with a score of 6:5.

Malkhas Amoyan, who is a gold medalist from the 2022 World Championship and a three-time European champion, achieved a significant milestone with his first Olympic appearance at Paris-2024. Later in the day, Artur Aleksanyan, a gold, silver, and bronze medalist from previous Olympic Games and a multiple world and European champion, will compete for the title of Olympic champion.
