YEREVAN, JUNE 24, ARMENPRESS. During the Armenian-Georgian cultural-culinary festival, a tourism business forum was held in Yerevan with the participation of various organizations from both countries. During this event, the parties agreed to establish a joint working group to address urgent issues in the field.
Participants of the festival had the opportunity to combine work with pleasure: they could acquaint themselves with unique aspects of the cultural heritage of the Armenian and Georgian peoples, explore national cuisines, discover the offerings of tourist companies, establish business ties, discuss prospects for cooperation development, as well as to identify steps to facilitate it.
Mekhak Apresyan, President of the Armenian Tourism Federation, told journalists that such events present a significant opportunity to strengthen contacts, highlight challenges, discuss their solutions, and develop joint proposals.
"It is a very good platform for cooperation. Within the framework of the festival, we organize business forums where representatives of the tourism industry come together to jointly discuss issues related to the development of Armenian-Georgian regional tourist packages. Our goal is to create a more competitive, attractive offering that can be effectively advertised and promoted globally," said Mekhak Apresyan.
The emphasis was also placed on defining quality standards and continuously improving services provided to tourists. Special attention was given to facilitating and expediting border crossing processes, which are important factors for the development of international tourism.
Mekhak Apresyan also mentioned that during the forum an agreement had been reached to establish a joint working group with representatives from the public and private sectors to address the raised issues. It is planned that the members of the joint working group will meet at the Armenian-Georgian border to discuss possibilities for facilitating border crossing processes.
