Artsakh has always emphasized the importance of holding events with the participation of the Diaspora, no matter if they are held in Mother Armenia, Artsakh or the Diaspora. And in the current complex geopolitical conditions, it becomes double demanded and relevant, ARMENPRESS reports, the President of the Republic of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan said during the first Global Armenian Summit in Yerevan.

"Today, the Armenian people are facing such serious problems and challenges, for the solution and withstanding of which it is necessary to combine all the national potential and efforts, to unite around one idea. That idea is the strengthening and development of independent Armenian statehood, the key guarantee of which has always been the trinity of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora. Even the slightest weakening of it can lead to disastrous consequences. Therefore, it is very important to treat this trinity as an inseparable integrity of values and interests.

The 44-day war of 2020 has put us all in front of new realities. We have had valued and irreversible losses. we have lost our heroic children, a part of our historical homeland. Today, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian people, Artsakh is trying to stand up with great difficulty and heal its wounds, it is trying to live and create as it has done for centuries, taking ownership of its land, its history and its future," Harutyunyan said.

The President of Artsakh notes with sorrow that the threats to the Armenian people have not been neutralized, moreover, according to him, they have become more tangible and growing even in the territory of mother Armenia.

"That's why we have no choice but to unite, contrary to everything. Today, national and state interest should be primary and superior for all of us. We owe a debt to our heroic martyrs who sacrificed the most expensive, their lives, for the defense of the motherland. We owe to our ancestors and future generations. There is no alternative to strong Armenia, Artsakh and Diaspora. This should be our clear and unstoppable message to the world," Harutyunyan concluded.
