Armenian Deputy FM, Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia discuss cooperation issues

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, ARMENPRESS. On October 11, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan received Alexander Vinnikov, Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the parties discussed issues of Armenia-NATO cooperation. The sides referred to the continuous involvement of Armenian peacekeeping units in international peacekeeping missions, including under the auspices of NATO.

Issues related to international and regional security were discussed during the meeting. The Armenian side emphasized the need for the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the repatriation of the Armenian prisoners of war, and the unconditional maintenance of the ceasefire regime. In this context, NATO's continuous support to the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs’ format in promoting the peace process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was highlighted.
