YEREVAN, OCTOBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The government of Armenia remains committed to further cooperation with all partners in promoting innovation, open internet and high-tech economy, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan said during the opening ceremony of the Global Innovation Forum in Yerevan.
“Technologies enable to generate new ideas that are getting out the traditional development channels. The digitization process of the economy has its place in Armenia’s development strategic plan for 2021-2025. This year the Global Innovation Forum is taking place at difficult conditions for our country, which proves Armenia’s commitment to reveal the opportunities of using new technologies which will be used for the benefit of the welfare of the people. We understand the importance of high technologies, especially that of artificial intelligence in multiple aspects”, he said.
According to the deputy PM, artificial intelligence is one of the most crucial technologies in the 21st century. He said it is going to completely change people’s way of living. Hambardzum Matevosyan stated that technology has entered into almost all spheres of human activity by significantly increasing the opportunities for innovation and creativity for Armenia.
“Armenia, with its human capital, uses the possibilities of the digital age, but it should be done in an efficient way. We should form a comprehensive understanding of how the artificial intelligence is changing the global economic infrastructure. We should ensure collaboration between the people and the machines. Progress brings certain dangers and risks as well. In case of digitizing the public administration we need to get prepared for emerging challenges and make them manageable. I am full of optimism that this Forum will help understand the opportunities and risks the use of artificial can entail for us. The government of Armenia remains committed to further cooperation with all partners in promoting innovation, open internet and high-tech economy as a means to accelerate achievements of our shared development goals”, the deputy PM said.
