1 arrested in attempted armed robbery in Yerevan high-end watch store

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. A 23-year-old man has been arrested by Yerevan police after attempting to break into a high-end jewelry and watch store in downtown overnight September 7.

Police said the suspect tried to breach into the store by shooting at the store window using his 12-gauge hunting shotgun.

Officers responded to a shots fired call at Northern Avenue at 03:50 and ten minutes later the suspect was detained.

The suspect, a resident of the village of Arinj, fired a single shot at the window but couldn’t make his way in.

He did not resist arrest and confessed, according to a news release issued by police.
