Armenian President holds farewell meeting with Ambassador of Romania

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan on December 12 held a farewell meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Armenia Sorin Vasile, press service of the Presidential Office told Armenpress.

The President thanked the Ambassador for the efforts made on strengthening the Armenian-Romanian relations during his tenure and wished success in his further activities.

Serzh Sargsyan said Armenia always attached importance to deepening the cooperation and relations with Romania based on the centuries-old friendship between the two peoples. The President stated with satisfaction that over the last years Armenia and Romania have significantly increased the level of mutual understanding on political issues which, according to him, is important in terms of deepening and strengthening the relations between the two countries. The Armenian President thanked the Romanian people and the leadership for the caring attitude towards the Armenian community, as well as the Armenian historical-cultural heritage in Romania.

In his turn the Romanian Ambassador said the mission in Armenia was a great honor for him, stating that during this period he acquired many friends, greater experience and knowledge on Armenia and the Armenian people with millennium-old history. The Ambassador assured that he leaves Armenia with great impressions and will remain the friend of the Armenian people and Armenia.
