Earthquake in Azerbaijan-Georgia border zone felt in Armenia with magnitude 2-5 points

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 28, ARMENPRESS. On June 7, at 22:25 local time, (at 18:25 by Greenwich), the Seismic Protection Survey Seismological Network of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake at the northern latitude 41.370and eastern longitude 45.760geographic coordinates (Azerbaijan-Georgia border zone, 28km north-east from the town of Aghstafa), with 4.8 magnitude and 12 km depth, press service of the Ministry told “Armenpress”.

The tremor measured magnitude 6-7 points at the epicenter area.

The earthquake was felt in the territory of Armenia – in the towns of Noyemberyan, Ijevan, Berd, Alaverdi, Dilijan with magnitude 4-5 points, in the towns of Stepanavan, Tashir, Sevan and Chambarak with 4 points, in Vanadzor, Spitak, Gavar and Vardenis towns with magnitude 3-4 points, the capital Yerevan, Gyumri city, Hrazdan, Abovyan, Charentsavan and Aparan towns with magnitude 3 points, and in the towns of Vagharshapat, Artashat, Yeghegnadzor and Jermuk with magnitude 2-3 points.
