Lecture titled “Armenians in old maps” was held in Austrian National Library

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Armenian embassy to Austria organized historian and cartographer Ruben Galichyan’s “Armenians in old maps” lecture in Austrian National Library on November 26. As Armenian the Press Service, Information and Public Relations Department of Armenian MFA informed “Armenpress”, the lecture, which told about the facts mentioning Armenia in World’s maps from ancient times until today, was attended by Austrian historians, cartographers, scientific circle representatives, by foreign ambassadors of the mentioned country, diplomats, cultural and public figures and by representatives of the Armenian community.

Armenian ambassador to Austria Arman Kirakosyan had an opening speech during the event. He referred Ruben Galichyan’s scientific activity and to his patriotic works during the latest years.

Petra Svatek,University of Vienna,HistoryDepartment, Department Member, had an introductory speech, in which he told about his scientific experience on works over ancient and old maps and about involuntary implications with Armenia.

Then a lecture was delivered by Dr. Ruben Galichyan, after which he answered to the questions of the audience.
