Head coach of Women’s national weightlifting team of Armenia comments on World Championship

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Head coach of Women’s National weightlifting team of Armenia Artashes Nersisyan thinks that the women’s team fulfilled the tasks set before them: two weightlifters will represent the team in RioOlympic Games.

“We had the task of retaining the two ratings of the previous year and we did it. The championship was a hard one for us. I have never seen such a strong championship before, it was really very difficult but we managed to keep our two Olympic tickets. Now I can surely state that two weightlifters will represent women’s team in RioOlympic Games. In regard to achieving positive results in the Olympic Games, we – the coaches, the athletes will do our best in Rio to reach good results,” “Armenpress” reports, citing National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Nersisyan said.

5 athletes represented women’s national team of Armenia in World Weightlifting Championship.

Anna Govelyan (53 kg) won the 28th place, Izabella Yaylyan (58 kg) – 15th, Nazik Avdalyan (69 kg) – 14th, Sona Poghosyan (75 kg) – 21st, Hripsime Khurshudyan (75+) – 14th place.
