Chapel bears shots during diversion: Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan speaks about Artsakh Diocese

STEPANAKERT, JULY3, ARMENPRESS. The Diocese of Artsakh of the Armenian Apostolic Church has carried out huge work during 26 years. 70 churches, monasteries and chapels have been established and renovated during this period. Theleader oftheArtsakh Diocese, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan mentioned that this tremendous work was completed by joint efforts. Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan said in an interview with Armenpress: “It is difficult to sustain the activity you want to with 15 clergymen.” He mentioned that every detachment on the border has its chapel. The clergymen work actively with the servicemen.

“Clergymen visit entrenchments. Every detachment builds its sanctuary along the border, creates a cross and a chapel and confesses that the chapel bears the shots during diversion. You see that the chapel is covered but they [servicemen] have overcome the danger with minor harms. It is God’s power that protects our soldiers,” Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan highlighted adding that the number of sectarians in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic decreases from year to year.
