YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 27, ARMENPRESS: Ivan Aivazovskiy's canvas ''The Galata Tower by Moonlight'' was sold for £ 825,250 in the Sotheby's Auction House of London on November 26. ''Armenpress'' reports this citing website of Sotheby's Auction House of London. The worldwide marine artist's ten canvases are put forward in the auction in the Sotheby's Auction House of London. Among other pictures one can mention ''The Galata Tower by Moonlight'' alongside with a number of other canvases in the auction of November 26 and 27. These Landscape scenes have been depicted in Constantinople.

Becides aforesaid four works were sold by record price Ivan Aivazovsky’s ''The Galata Tower by Moonlight'' in the Sotheby’s Auction House on November 26. Those canvases are ''Portrait of Praskovia Mamontova'' by Valentin Serov sold for £ 1,217,250, "Transportation of the Wounded" by Vasily Vereshchagin sold for £ 937,250, Ivan Shishkin’s landscape sold for £ 881,250 and a canvas by Lado Gudiashvili, which was sold for £ 937,250.
