IRANIAN AUTHORITIES REJECTED THE OPPOSITION’S DEMAND ON ANNULING RESULTS OF PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

MOSCOW, JUNE 16, ARMENPRESS:Iranian Observing Council today rejected the opposition’s demand on annulling the results of the presidential elections in Iran, “Reuters” news agency reported citing representative of the Council Abas Ali Kadkhoda as saying. “The legislation doesn’t allow the discussion of the candidates’ demand on annulling voting results,” Kadkhoda stated by Iranian National Television. The Observing Council earlier today declared that they will recount the votes in a number of polling stations to disclose falsifications during the voting of presidential elections. The Observing Council is the national body of election oversight in Iran, which is subjected directly to Iranian religious/spiritual leader and head of the state Ali Khamene.
