YEREVAN, MAY 11, ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Healthcare of Armenia has condemned the Azerbaijani military for shelling an ambulance which was evacuating wounded Armenian troops on May 11, stressing that Azerbaijan's actions are a violation of international humanitarian laws and the rules of engagement.
Below is the full statement released by the ministry.
“Today morning the Azerbaijani armed forces have opened fire on the ambulance carrying a wounded serviceman.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia condemns this yet another case of targeting medical workers and an ambulance while performing their professional duties.
Such manifestations are against all international humanitarian laws, even the laws of war, and must be strictly condemned.”
4 Armenian troops were wounded when Azerbaijan launched an artillery and mortar attack near Sotk on May 11.
