Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan offers condolences to people of quake-hit Syria

“We were saddened by the news of the devastating earthquake and the loss of life. I express condolences and deepest sympathies to the friendly people of Syria,” Simonyan tweeted.

The Syrian Health Ministry reported a death toll of at least 237, with at least 648 other people injured by the disaster.
