ICRC to transport medicine into blockaded Nagorno Karabakh

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 24, ARMENPRESS. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will transport medicine to Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), ICRC Armenia spokesperson Zara Amatuni told ARMENPRESS.

“Today, a 4-months-old baby was transferred with ICRC vehicles to Armenia. With consent of the parties, the ICRC vehicles will transport certain quantity of medicine on their way back,” Amatuni said.

The 4-months-old seriously-ill baby suffering from visceral leishmaniasis hospitalized under intensive care in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) amid the blockade was transported to a specialized hospital in Armenia on December 24.

The evacuation was mediated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Azerbaijan is keeping the Lachin Corridor blocked since December 12. The corridor is Artsakh’s only connection with Armenia and the rest of the world.
