No incidents recorded in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS.  The Russian peacekeeping contingent continues to fulfill its tasks in Nagorno-Karabakh, ARMENPRESS reports the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said in a message.

Round-the-clock monitoring of the situation at 30 observation points and control of the maintenance of the cease-fire regime are carried out by the Russian peacekeepers.

No violations were recorded in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping troops.

“In order to ensure the safety of Russian peacekeepers and prevent possible incidents, continuous cooperation with the Staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia is maintained," the message states.

The Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh reported that a 36-year-old resident of Sarushen village of Askeran region went to the Kqrmir Shuka Department of the Martuni Regional Police Department on November 16 at 14:30 to report that while carrying out works in the agricultural lands belonging to the Sarushen community of Askeran region at around 11:40 a.m. in the Amaras Valley, the Azerbaijani army fired irregularly at the citizens working in the field from various firearms from the adjacent military position.

Agricultural works were stopped due to the violation of the ceasefire regime.

"There are no casualties among civilians.

The Police informed about the incident and provided relevant materials to the Russian peacekeeping troops," said the Police of Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs, adding that the Martuni regional department of the police is engaged in the investigation.
