YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The CSTO mission led by the Chief of the Joint Staff Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov continues working in Armenia.

The CSTO said in a statement that Sidorov met with Lt. General Roman Golubitsky in Armenia, the Head of the Russian FSS Border Guards in Armenia. A comprehensive discussion on the situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the measures aimed at resolving it took place.

The same day , the Colonel-General held a meeting with Russian Ambassador in Armenia Sergey Kopirkyn. Ambassador Kopirkyn said that “In Yerevan, special importance is given to the CSTO mission and there is hope that the CSTO will play an important role in stabilizing the situation and taking measures for preventing escalation.”

Colonel-General Sidorov also met with the Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan yesterday.

The CSTO mission is expected to develop proposals on de-escalating the situation.
