YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 16, ARMENPRESS: A number of queries concerning fraudulent e-mail notifications that claim to be from official U.S. Government agencies have been received which mostly notify the recipient that they have won a "Green Card" and that in order to receive their "Green Card," they must send money to complete the application process, an official from the US embassy to Armenia told Armenpress.
“Please note that the Department of State does not notify successful Diversity Visa (DV) applicants by e-mail. Entrants who completed the online DV 2012 entries will not receive notification letters from the Kentucky Consular Center, and must check the status of their entries through the DV Lottery website at http://www.dvlottery.state.gov on or after May 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012,” the official of the embassy informed.
Entry Status Check will be the only means of informing the lottery winners/selectees of their selection for DV-2012. All entrants, including those not selected, may check the status of their entry through the Entry Status Check on the E-DV website www.dvlottery.state.gov and find out if their entry was or was not selected. Entrants will need to use the information from their DV 2012 confirmation page saved at the time they applied. The DV Lottery 2012 registration period was from October 5, 2010 until November 3, 2010. Additionally, Entry Status Check will provide winners instructions on how to proceed with their applications and will provide them with the date and time of their appointments for immigrant visa interviews.
