US changed its approach over Turkey’s purchase of Russian S-400 missile systems – expert

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Currently the most heated issue in the Turkish-American relations is the purchase of S-400 Russian missile systems by Ankara and their deployment, however, the United States has changed its position on the matter, Expert on Oriental Studies Ruben Safrastyan told reporters in Yerevan, commenting on the recent Trump-Erdogan meeting in Washington D.C.

“The parties decided to put aside this issue and let their representatives continue the talks and find a solution. Moreover, after their meeting Erdogan announced that the US principally agrees to sell Patriot missile systems to Turkey. Initially, when it became known that Turkey has purchased and already deploys the S-400 missile systems, the US announced that it would not sell the Patriot systems. But now the US has changed its approach”, Safrastyan said.
