Situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border is calm, says defense ministry spox

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 30, ARMENPRESS. At the moment the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is calm, Armenian defense ministry spokesperson Artsrun Hovhannisyan said.

“At this moment the situation in the border is calm, but the Azerbaijani side, in response to our statement, released a stupidity about the incident at night, as well as the actions of their border troops”, Hovhannisyan said.

The Azerbaijani side fired shots at the civilian settlements and military positions of Armenia in Tavush province overnight October 29-30. The adversary fired shots from various caliber weapons and went silent after a response fire. There are no casualties in the Armenian side.

On October 30 the Armenian defense ministry urged Azerbaijan to refrain from provocations and creating tension in the border with Armenia.
