Government plans to increase police expenditures by half a billion drams

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. Under the 2020 state budget the national police will get half a billion drams more in funding compared to this year.

Acting Police Chief Arman Sargsyan told lawmakers in a parliamentary committee that the force will receive a total of 64,9 billion drams.

“Under the 2020 state budget it is planned to allocate 64,9 billion drams instead of the 64,4 billion drams of 2019 to the police,” he said. “Overall the difference is half a billion drams, or 0,8%”.

He said 99,1% of the total funds are current expenditures, while 0,9% are capital spending.

47,5 billion drams of the entire amount are salaries and procurement expenditures are 14,6 billion.
