YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Foreign Minister of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides and Foreign Minister of Greece Nikos Dendias held a trilateral meeting in New York on September 25 on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, the Armenian MFA told Armenpress.
The three FMs stated that this trilateral meeting is another good opportunity to discuss agenda issues and outline the future frameworks of the Cyprus-Armenia-Greece trilateral partnership. The sides reaffirmed their mutual readiness to reach the implementation of common goals and initiatives of the three peoples who are connected with firm historical ties thanks to dialogue and cooperation. In this context the ministers outlined taking practical actions to implement exchange programs and reveal new cooperation directions.
In this respect they highlighted the upcoming Cyprus-Armenia-Greece summit 2020 which will take place in Yerevan and outlined the actions to prepare for this event.
The three Foreign Ministers also discussed urgent international and regional issues.
Coming to the Armenia-EU relations, the Greek and Cypriot FMs reaffirmed their countries’ support to Armenia to strengthen the relations with the EU, as well as within the framework of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the Eastern Partnership. In this regard FM Mnatsakanyan said the launch of visa liberalization dialogue with the EU is very important for Armenia as a key tool to promote contacts and ties between peoples.
