25-year-old man dies attempting to save drowning child in Lake Sevan

YEREVAN, AUGUST 12, ARMENPRESS. A 25-year-old man died while attempting to save a drowning child in Lake Sevan, Armenia’s top summer tourist destination.

The incident took place Monday afternoon near the "Laguna" beach.

“One man entered [the lake] to save another one, and he drowned. Our rescuers recovered [his body],” Edmon Zargaryan, Ministry of Emergency Situations spokesperson told ARMENPRESS.

The child, a 13-year-old, was eventually saved by other people at the lake.
