Recent elections in Armenia can be fully called as free, fair, democratic and transparent – CEC Chairman

YEREVAN, MARCH 6, ARMENPRESS. Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan says the fact that the recent snap parliamentary and the Yerevan City Council elections enjoyed an unconditional trust both by the public and the international observers is a key achievement, reports Armenpress.

“Elections have taken place in Armenia which can be fully called as free, fair, democratic and transparent. A key achievement during the elections was that the political forces, the voters, civil society, media and also the international community, in particular, the observers have recorded trust towards the elections. This is a major and significant achievement”, the CEC Chairman said.

He noted that the Yerevan City Council elections also deserve the same assessment. According to him, those were the first elections that there was an unconditional perception by the public towards the results.
