Iranian FM announces his resignation

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, ARMENPRESS. Foreign minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarifhas announced his resignation on his Instagram page, reports Armenpress.

“Many thanks forthe generosity ofthe dear and brave people ofIran and its authorities overthe past67 months. I sincerely apologize forthe inability tocontinue the service and forall the shortcomings duringthe service. Be happy and worthy”, Zarif wrote inhis Instagram blog as quoted by Sputnik News.

According toReuters, citing Tasnim news agency, some local sources familiar withthe matter have confirmed Zarif's resignation, however, it was not immediately clear whether Iranian President Hassan Rouhani would accept it.
