I have never met a more independent person than Pashinyan – 1st President comments on rumors about his influence on Pashinyan

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 23, ARMENPRESS. 1st President of the Republic of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan has published an extended article in ilur.am news website, referring to his relations with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the rumors that some circles recently spread in the media.

'What's the reason of that by breaching my tradition,I want to personally comment on that? I assure, it's not for my self-defense, but exclusively for not making Nikol Pashinyan a target for false accusations', ARMENPRESS reports Ter-Petrosyan noted in the article.

Referring to the rumors that the Armenian PM is the follower of his political course, while he is the 'Godfather' of Pashinyan, the 1st President assessed it as full absurdness. Referring to the idea put into circulation by some circles that allegedly 'Pashinyan calls Levon Ter-Petrosyan every evening and asks for advice', Ter-Petrisyan emphasized, 'First, let me remind that since 2012 I and Pashinyan have met only once, on July 16, 2018, about which the press service of the Government of Armenia issues an official statement. After that I have never had any conversation with the Prime Minister on telephone or through the brokering of 3rd persons... And if there are some people who think that it's possible to guide Pashinyan by advices or demand him to do something, they are either strongly mistaken, or do not know that person at all, or think about him according to their own morals. I have never met a more independent and self-sufficient person than Pashinyan'.

Levon Ter-Petrosyan assured his previously made remark that the 'Armenian National Congress' is ready to support all the efforts of the new authorities of Armenia aimed at the prosperity and development of Armenia.
