Government plans to shut down outdated Nubarashen correctional facility

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 12, ARMENPRESS. The government plans to shut down the old Nubarashen correctional facility located in Yerevan’s eponymous district, PM Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament when asked about the matter by opposition MP Ani Samsonyan.

Samsonyan asked if the government considers closing the prison and re-locating it.

“Yes, we have similar plans regarding Nubarashen correctional facility,” the prime minister said.

The building of the prison is quite old and restoring it requires big financial resources.
