Speaker of Parliament of Armenia holds meeting with Egyptian Ambassador

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 5, ARMENPRESS. Speaker of Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Armenia Bahaa El Din BahgatDessouki, the Parliament told Armenpress.

Speaker Mirzoyan said the Armenian-Egyptian relations are based on firm historic-cultural and traditional ties between the two friendly peoples and expressed confidence that it would be possible to raise these relations to a qualitatively new level through joint efforts.

The Speaker highlighted strengthening the inter-parliamentary cooperation and expressed hope that the ties between these two countries will enter a new stage at this platform.

Ararat Mirzoyan said the development of relations with the Arab world is one of the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy, and Armenia highlights intensifying the partnership with Egypt at all sectors.

Commenting on the activity of the Egyptian-Armenian community, the Speaker said Armenians found shelters in Egypt at different times and have their unique place in that country’s development and prosperity process.

In his turn the Egyptian Ambassador also attached importance to the development of productive cooperation in different sectors, stating that he will do the utmost to expand and the deepen the relations during his tenure.
